I installed my coilovers in my Forester tonight, just finished and went for a test rip. Handling is completely changed, way better. Ride sucks, but I don't care it is better than my E30.
I'm going to tease you and not post any photos because its dark and I may or may not be able to return to my driveway... :) Current ride height is closer to the ground than this by about 1/2" maybe. Very low! But corners PERFECT for a Forester, grips amazing with crappy tires too.

I'm from Minnesota, just a reference for my ride height, I have a black SG9 and my state doesn't even have emissions inspections let alone laws about modifications for the most part.

Nice changeover - let us know how well it works.

That's pretty low.
I wonder how those wheels you bought would look on yours btw.

Step 1 : Buy a lifted wagon
Step 2: Install coilovers to lower it
Step 3: Forget about it making sense...
Step 4: PROFIT!

You just lowered a lifted wagon.
wat.

I lowered it 4 inches within a week of buying it, now I knocked out the last 3/4" to 1" of gap.

If it made sense why would I do it?

It's not your car so don't worry, I'm not going to sneak in and do it to your Forester overnight.

But in reality, I don't offroad. It's a street car and I drive it/build it as one. Plus it's 100% functional at the height it's at now, no rubbing, scraping, anything. Except the molded mudflaps, they scrape on everything but I'm gonna take them off.

I just don't understand why every American buys crossovers. Are there offroad highways that I don't know about? Because plenty of people here tend to buy lifted cars with body cladding and I never see them with any mud or dirt on it...strange.
Anyways, how come you just didn't just start off with an Impreza wagon instead of getting a higher wagon and lowering it? Just wondering.

Impreza WRX insurance is much higher than Forester XT insurance, Forester's are lighter than imprezas, it's on the same exact chassis so all 02-07 impreza parts bolt up, it's more spacious than the WRX, and it's unique. It's more of a wagon than a crossover, far too small to be a "crossover" it's smaller than my mom's Lexus ES350 and my sisters Camry.
